We are hiring Special Education Teachers (Male & Female) for positions in Crown Heights within the education sector. This role offers a competitive salary ranging from $70 to $85 per hour, with both full-time and part-time opportunities available.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, including setting goals, selecting appropriate instructional strategies, and monitoring progress.
• Provide direct instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities, behavioral challenges, and developmental delays.
• Differentiate instruction to accommodate students’ unique strengths, interests, and learning styles.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff to ensure students’ needs are met in inclusive classroom settings.
• Conduct ongoing assessments to evaluate students’ academic, social, and emotional growth and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to share student progress, discuss concerns, and collaborate on strategies to support learning at home.
• Maintain accurate and thorough records of student attendance, behavior, and academic performance.
• Stay informed about best practices, research-based interventions, and legal requirements in special education.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
• New York State certification in Special Education (Students with Disabilities) or eligibility for certification.
• Experience working with students with disabilities in educational settings, preferably in an urban environment.
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and evidence-based practices.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students.
